The Worst To First team brought “One Million Steps for Florida’s Kids” to Central Florida in December, finding inspiration in the people working to make Florida a better place for our children. In Pasco County, students from the Lawton Chiles Leadership Corps organized the entire school to sign the Pledge for Florida’s Children and join Bud on his walk.
In Lakeland, we visited the school where Gov. Lawton Chiles graduated, now a nationally recognized magnet school. In Ocala, Bud Chiles walked with Marions United for Public Education, a group of parents, teachers and students fighting for a stronger education system. In Volusia County we spent time with the mothers and kids at The Chiles Academy, where teen mothers are getting their education and lives back on track. You can take your own step today to make Florida a place for kids again.
Forward this to a friend and ask them to go to www.WorstToFirst.org and sign the Pledge For Florida’s Children. Please help us get one step closer to our goal.
