BOLD Ideas from the LCLC Creative Messaging Workshop

Many of you were able to participate in my Creative Messaging Workshop at the LCLC Conference in Orlando.  Others chose to spend their morning diving into this blog format and learning more about social media.  Regardless, the purpose of this site and this blog in particular is to share ideas and best practices.  With that said, here are some of the great ideas that came out of our workshop:

• Wear Orange Prison jump suits to School (or during college class registration days)

• Sports Jersey #49 (Name on Jersey: Left Behind)

• Temporary Tattoos for Kids (we’ll probably print some of these to distribute to you)

• T-Shirt: “Last in Line….49″

• Interactive Marketing Bell Curve Graphic with question: “Where do you think Florida falls in education spending in this graphic?” (Florida at end 49)

• Quiz on Sporting Scoreboards: “Where do you think Florida falls in education spending compared with other states?”

• Video Idea: Kids picking teams with Florida being picked last

• Video Idea: Close up of tree with the word “Education” carved into it.  Pans out to show a forest burned down with close ups of burned trees revealing words like “well qualified teachers” or “technology” or “library” or “smaller class sizes”.

• Stickers to go over President’s Image on US Dollars (Image of a kid in a prison uniform.  Text around image reads: “What’s your money going towards:  Education or Prisons?”  WorsttoFirst.org goes at bottom where president’s name would be)

I hope you find these inspiring and that you take the time to implement some of these in your sphere of influence (at your H.S., College, post a video on your FB profile or on YouTube).  Remember, we’re in this together and will all benefit if we can take Florida from Worst to First!

  1. [...] Blog post subject matter MUST be related to the Worst to First (WorsttoFirst.org) cause.  A great resource of topics can be found on the Florida Indicators page (Click Here).  If you need some warm up exercises, check out Brian Ramos’ blog post on Creative Messaging (Click Here). [...]
