During the Summer of 2009, ten youth leaders from Community Youth Development were selected to participate at the Inaugural Lawton Chiles Leadership Corps. Organized by the Lawton Chiles Foundation, this two-day conference aimed to educate youth leaders on the alarming statistics related to education and to empower them to help Florida move from “Worst to First” in education.
